Overview
Nothing beats a boat parade in a harbor town, and South Haven’s is one you’ll feel in your chest. Each year, the South Haven Steelheaders treat regional veterans to a Lake Michigan fishing excursion while the community packs the piers to welcome them home. As the boats return with Operation Wounded Soldier, flags are handed out for the crowds to wave, the fire department extends a flag-draped ladder over the channel, the marching band plays, and an airplane flyover salutes the fleet. We’re grateful to our veterans, and to Operation Injured Soldier and the South Haven Steelheaders for giving South Haven a powerful way to say thank you!
